A Blogger Blogspot Cautionary Tale

When we started the MT-Law Blog, we started hosting it on Blogger's free blog hosting service on blogspot. The URL for the blogspot hosted blog was "mtlaw.blogspot.com." Later, we transfered the blog to our servers.

For the longest time Blogger kept the mtlaw.blogspot site up. Apparently, after some period of inactivity, the mtlaw.blogspot domain was available for anyone to claim. Unfortunately, someone claimed it, and the mtlaw.blogspot url now goes to a site about Mariah Carey.

The lesson here is that if you first use blogspot and transfer to another domain, keep claiming the blogspot blog and just create a totally new blog.
